Moffat Astronomy Club was created in partnership with the Moffat Dark Sky and Moffat Community Observatory in 2018.
The membership consists of astronomy and astrophotography enthusiasts of all levels of expertise from beginner to accomplished. Our aim is to spread the joy of the hobby to as many people as possible locally by creating a space for them to come together and share their enthusiasm and experience.
To become a member fill in the contact form from this link Join Here. Membership is currently only available to adults of 18yrs and over. Special events and bookings are organised under supervision for children.
The club meets officially twice per month on the second and last Tuesday of each month from October to March.
The first meeting is used to further our understanding of the subject. We try to organise an educational meeting with an expert in the subject either in person at the Proudfoot or over Zoom.
The second meeting is reserved for observing the sky at the Moffat Community Observatory.
See list of upcoming events and meeting dates here.
Members will have privileged access to Moffat Community Observatory on evenings when there are no public bookings and an Observatory host is available.
